Actor Anton Yelchin, 27, known for his roles in “Star Trek” and “Alpha Dog,” died early Sunday morning after he was getting pinned by his own car — TMZ published on their website.
Yelchin was supposed to meet by his friends hours earlier for a rehearsal. They went to his San Fernando Valley home at around 1 AM and just found him being pinned between his car and a brick mailbox pillar that was attached to a security gate.
Law enforcement told that the engine was still running when his body was discovered and the car was being set to neutral. It’s just unclear to them why Yelchin got out of the car since its driveway was fairly steep incline. Cops didn’t suspect for foul play.
Yelchin appeared in thriller Green Room, and his death comes a month before its theatrical release of Justin Lin’s Star Trek: Beyond, which he roles as Chekov. Other film credits includes Alpha Dog, Fright Night, and Charlie Bartlett.
Yelchin’s Star Trek co-stars John Cho and Karl Urban and others reacted to the tragic news on Twitter.
