Philippine National Police has provided pertinent information by its Chinese counterparts with profiles of suspected drug lords of the country.
According to PNP chief Ronald Dela Rosa, the Chinese authorities gave him the names of Chinese nationals engaged in the illegal drug trade such as Peter Lim and Peter Co.
“They provided me with the correct profiles of Co and Lim during our dialogue as well as that of known (Chinese) drug lords in the country,” PNP chief Dela Rosa said.
He described the data as “highly valuable,” but the chief of police refused to elaborate on the details for some security issues.
According to chief Dela Rosa, “they are classified matters. We don’t need to disclose this. But on matter of intelligence is highly valuable for us.”
The meeting of two nations police authority comes with an order of Chinese police during a bilateral meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The PNP chief attended the 36th Aseanopol (Association of Southeast Asia Police Chiefs) conference, where the two police top officials acted as one of the observers in the annual event.
President Rodrigo Duterte had tagged Lim and Co, along with Herbert Colangco as the major players in the illegal drug operations in the Philippines.
The said alleged drug lords are currently incarcerated at the National Bilibid Prison, where they reportedly continue managing this illegal drug business, while the authorities are still searching for the real Peter Lim.
